I'm Tinxiedoodles (Kristine), 30. A mom, a wife, an office drone, and a musician. I do a lot of artsy stuff, like photography, drawing, songwriting, singing, and I also love to do freehand nail art in my free time.
Most of the time, this tumblr will be about my nailart, but I will post some of my other pursuits from time to time, as well as nail art from artists that I admire a lot.
All designs posted by me are my own unless stated otherwise. Removing or editing the watermark on my photos is not allowed. Thanks for visiting my blog!
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
My toenails. Tie Dye… Very summer. Pardon the base coat. It was a super fuschia pink. I was going to do a pink themed tie dye design, but space ran out.
This was pretty easy to do. Next week I’m gonna do this to my fingernails. ♥ I love this coz it’s a great alternative to water marbling and I really really really really HATE WATER MARBLING. I can’t tell you how much I hate doing it. I have never been successful at it.
1. Choose your colors. The brighter, the better. Also prepare a pin or a needle.
2. Apply your base coat and let it dry.
3. Open all nail polish bottles, coz you need to be fast, really, really fast.
4. Apply all your colors in whichever way you want and do it FAST. Mine was applied vertically.
5. Get your needle and start dragging in a starburst pattern. Do it really quick or your nail polish will dry and your design will suck…
There ya go. Tie dye nails.
My simple purple nails. Tried to copy my daughter’s purple peel off nail polish and I think I nailed it. LOL
Pink, Gray and White Stripes
This is #2 on my Nail Art Bucketlist and an enhancement of the earlier posted “feeling gray” nails.
Thank you to my wonderful new tumblr friends, Ms. Melissa of LionessLaquer and Ms. Hanna of Polishisagirlsbestfriend for teaching me their techniques on how to do a proper striped mani with the use of tape. Thank you thank you thank you! Finally succeeded and this was a huge hit in the office. Stripes are also easy to do, and they make your nails look longer than they actually do!
I’m not sure what I was thinking earlier, but I did opposing patterns for my thumb and my pinkie fingers. LOL
Thank you again and I hope you like this.
Feeling Gray…
Because the next Walking Dead will not air until fall :-(
Sorry about having to blur the document underneath my hand, it was an official document, and I didn’t want to get into trouble with the bosses. LOL
DAY 19 - GALAXIES
Here are my super simple to do galaxy nails using some glitter polish, black nail polish and sponging with white, dark green, and some purple polish.
I hope you like the photo manipulation I did. LOL I was going to add solar flares but it looked like some of the planets were on fire. LOL
My Audrey Hepburn inspired nails again. I love that they are super simple, for a change.
I hope you don’t mind, but I skipped ahead and went to
DAY 23: Nails inspired by a movie.
So bye bye buttefly nails. I was originally going to do rainbow nails, but rainbows are so hard to do without a striper brush and I was so inspired by the bling nails that I shared earlier that I thought I would do my own take on it, but in a style that I really really really love, and something that is really classic.I love Audrey Hepburn. Everything about her screams class and elegance, so I decided to do something that is inspired by her and her movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The base color is a navy blue color that I got from OMG called “Bahama Blue”. I used a dotting tool and my favorite bottle of silver glitter polish to create the jewel effect and voila! Audrey Hepburn inspired nails ♥
Cool nail art from Algae Veronica! This is simple but stunning! I can’t wait to try this on! And I bet my right hand would look as good as the left because it looks pretty easy to do.
