I'm Tinxiedoodles (Kristine), 30. A mom, a wife, an office drone, and a musician. I do a lot of artsy stuff, like photography, drawing, songwriting, singing, and I also love to do freehand nail art in my free time.

Most of the time, this tumblr will be about my nailart, but I will post some of my other pursuits from time to time, as well as nail art from artists that I admire a lot.

All designs posted by me are my own unless stated otherwise. Removing or editing the watermark on my photos is not allowed. Thanks for visiting my blog!

Pink, Gray and White Stripes
This is #2 on my Nail Art Bucketlist and an enhancement of the earlier posted “feeling gray” nails.
Thank you to my wonderful new tumblr friends, Ms. Melissa of LionessLaquer and Ms. Hanna of Polishisagirlsbestfriend for teaching me their techniques on how  to do a proper striped mani with the use of tape. Thank you thank you thank you! Finally succeeded and this was a huge hit in the office. Stripes are also easy to do, and they make your nails look longer than they actually do!
I’m not sure what I was thinking earlier, but I did opposing patterns for my thumb and my pinkie fingers. LOL
Thank you again and I hope you like this.

Using the previously shared glitter, I have created a (hopefully close) look-a-like of Revlon’s Whimsical. They cost a lot here and I’m broke right now. Also, I made these in like a RUSH, like the biggest rush ever because of chores and what not. There ya go,  I hope you like my creation… my own personal bottle of what I dub as Tinxiedoodles: Pixie Dust ….. not a-la nailasaurus’ gray glitter nails, but my own unique bottle of polish.
The manicure itself, is admittedly a bit messy though. So I will revisit this.

Here is a tutorial for creating the perfect cartoon eyeball, which I used for my Mr. Bean manicure . I learned all about doing outlines by watching Robin Moses’ tutorials on youtube. She is one badass nail artist. This technique works best for cartoon manicures.
1. Using a dotting tool, create a black dot on wherever you want the eyeball to be and let it dry a bit before moving on to step 2.
2. Using the dotting tool again, create a slightly smaller dot on top of the black dot, but this time using white polish. This will create an outline for your eyes.
3. Get a smaller dotting tool, or in my case, a nail art pen, and again, create a dot over the white dot you created earlier. This will be the pupil.  (You can use a needle, or a tip of a pen, for this if you want)
There ya go, perfect cartoon eyeballs.
Also to get a perfect photo of your mani AKA no smudging, take the photo before you add the top coat on. (I do sometimes and it works for me ♥)

Mr. Bean Nails!

I’m sure everyone of you at some point has seen a Mr. Bean episode. The live action series starring Rowan Atkinson started in 1990. The series is now legendary and famous worldwide, despite having only shot 14 episodes.

The series has also spawned an animated version, which my daughter loves so much. I love Mr. Bean too, I grew up watching episodes of the live action series.

A bit of trivia about Mr. Bean/Rowan Atkinson

1. He drives race cars in real life, that’s why he is so good at driving that green leyland mini.

2. He is one of the richest men in  UK. Worth millions!

3. He’s worked with Hugh Laurie (Dr. House) in comedy sketches and I believe they’re friends

4. He has a hot daughter

Ok, on with the manicure. I used a total of 9 polishes for this. I used OPI Your Royal Shyness for Mr. Bean’s skin. I used Sally Hansen HARD as NAILS Xtreme Wear in Sweet for Teddy and Mr. Bean’s suit. The rest of the polishes were local brands, such as Caronia (Black and Purple), B2K (Green and White), and Sassy (Nail art pens in silver, red, white and black). My top coat of course, was my favorite top coat from The Face Shop.

I did a tutorial - EASY CARTOON EYES using dotting tools. Just don’t breathe when you’re dotting for precision purposes :-P

Since the nail art on my left hand features Winnie the Pooh and Gang, I thought it would be a good idea to do 100 Acre Wood on my right hand. Simply because my left hand is not as talented as my right hand. Pardon the untidiness. They kind of suck compared to my pooh nails, but WTH.

I did the grass with three different shades of green, using a fan brush. The tree was made with my trusty dotting tool and four different shades of green.
