Tinxiedoodles' Nail Art

I'm Tinxiedoodles (Kristine), 30. A mom, a wife, an office drone,and a musician. I do a lot of artsy stuff, like photography, drawing, songwriting, singing, and I also love to do freehand nail art in my free time.

Most of the time, this tumblr will be about my nailart, but I will post some of my other pursuits from time to time, as well as nail art from artists that I admire a lot.

Yesterday, my daughter asked me if I could do Winnie the Pooh and gang on my nails. This is the most complicated and time consuming nail art design I’ve done so far.

DAY 29: INSPIRED BY THE SUPERNATURAL

At first, I thought about doing an anime version of Sadako (Samara) from The Ring. I have already done a mock up on paper, using my nail art pen, but then my daughter gave me an idea. She said I should do the alien from Toy Story, which I did. 

This is also to make up for my “INSPIRED BY A MOVIE” nails. At least with this, I did both inspired by the Supernatural (aliens!) and inspired by a movie (Toy Story).

I also attached a photo of the nail polish that I used. All of them are local brands, save for my top coat which is from The Face Shop.

My Minions in Hi-res and without my face (LOL!)… Also Day 30 nails so I’ll reblog them after a few days :-p I was inspired by the Despicable Me 2 trailer which came out just a few days (?) ago. ♥

DAY 24: INSPIRED BY A BOOK (OR IN MY CASE, BOOKS)

This is so far, the most tedious thing I have ever done in my three or so months of doing nail art. I searched far and wide (googled) the most interesting (but doable) book covers I could ever find. I also attached the inspirations for my nail art so you can see which book is what. I have not included my inspirations for 4 of them because the blue/silver nail is my faded jean nail prototype, the black one with the green footprint, I have forgotten which book it was. The same is true for the one with the white background and polygons on it. It was something about staying connected. The other purple one, with the confetti on it, is from the DORK book.

There ya go. Hope you like my nail wheel… I gotta lie down now.

DAY 22: INSPIRED BY A SONG

These nails were inspired by Katy Perry, more specifically, “CALIFORNIA GIRLS”. I didn’t really want to stick stuff onto my nails, like she did, when she had those candy sprinkle nails, so I just used my dotting tool. I’m really very excited about these. They look so cool in person! I’m not sure if I want to change these. I might just wait until they get chipped off until I change them. Also sorry for not doing LMFAO nails. I know I said I’ll do Sexy and I Know It but my daughter said she wanted me to do candy sprinkle nails. Hope u like them as much as I do .

DAY 10 - GRADIENT NAILS These are my candy finish blue ombre nails. Quite simple, but they do the trick. I was actually going to do gradient nails the sponging way, but our housekeeper accidentally threw my sponge away :-( I used different shades of blue over my right hand nails, then gave them all a satin finish, to achieve that “candy” effect. I love my thumb. I love navy blue ♥ BTW, my daughter helped me model the nails. Hope you like them.

DAY 7 - BLACK AND WHITE NAILS Well, as stated in my previous post, I have used the ironworks inspired black and white swirlies for my nails, with my thumb and ring finger as accent nails! It was hard writing “love you”, especially because the polish was still a bit wet when I was writing, so the nail art pen really didn’t glide. Also, sorry if I messed up my middle finger. The black polish was in the process of drying when it kind of turned sideways and some of the black polish got dinged.  I hope you don’t mind that I used my fake nails again. I’m really trying hard to keep up with the challenge so I do a different mani on each hand, and I do my fake nails so I could do 3 or 2 manis in one night.  There ya go, have to go to sleep now. It’s midnight and I’m getting really sleepy-dizzy.
